Mixed Media Flower Canvas for Art Anthology

Hi everyone, today I'm playing with some of the new products from Art Anthology and my design team project is this mixed media canvas which I began the textured foundation with Crackle Paste. Then using a stencil I applied the gel based paints from AA using a frosting technique... You can view this in the video below. 

Once the paints were dry I then fussy cut them out and sprayed them with Colorations Spray in Raider  (black) over the entire flowers. The dimensional paints work as a resist so it only colors the background of the flowers. Flowers are then adhered to the canvas and finished off with a dry brushing of gold for highlights. 

Finnabair Melange Pebbles are painted with gold and applied for texture and interest to the canvas and my title was used from Finnabair's Art Cafe Sentiments.  For your pleasure I have included a YOUTUBE video below of my creative process. Have a wonderful day and thank you for stopping by.

Beautiful Dreamer Shaker Box Card for ReneaBouquets DT Project

Hi everyone, Toni here with a new design team project for ReneaBouquets featuring, of course, ReneaBouquets yummy items. This month I am involved in a Shaker Card Swap with ReneaBouquets and I decided to use the G45 Imagine paper collection that you can order from the store. The addition of the Beautiful Board Butterfly Corner to the lady's face worked perfectly. A little bit of fussy cutting of the paper roses and an Ideaology Hitch on the side with more items from ReneaBouquets store attached.  

The inside of the card opens to the shaker card full of goodies by ReneaBouquets as well. (All supplies will be listed below in the video information below.) A side pocket was created to hold a tag with a little note to my swap partner.  

The fun thing about swaps is to send out goodies to our creative swap partners, The new Beautiful Board Loaded Card,Tag or Frame Chipboard Kit is perfect because it has a little pocket to hold goodies.  Pictured to the right of the frame kit are the new Sweetheart ATC's and I used them to wrap some pretty laces for my partner.  

Altered some cute little clothespins and added some flowers and butterflies from the store as well.

Shabby Chic Altered Tea Pot for ReneaBouquets

Hi everyone, today I have for you a design team project for ReneaBouquets and I decided to alter one of Prima's new teapot frames. I started by dry brushing the teapot with white gesso and then highlighting some of the areas with silver metallic EP. 

For the inside of the teapot I placed one of ReneaBouquets Beautiful Board clock faces and used G45 Imagine paper line to back it. Coffee stained a doily tucked inside and embellished with some of ReneaBouquets gorgeous butterflies and flowers. The silver spoon and teacup on the bottom are part of ReneaBouquets Princess Trinket line. 

On the top of the teapot I placed ReneaBouquets Printed Beautiful Board "Tea With Me".  It's so easy to create a shabby piece with all of ReneaBouquet items in the store HERE.

Sculpted Flowers & Altered Frame

Hi everyone, I have a DT project for Art Anthology today and decided to put these very old flowers to good use. I saturated them first with Art Basics Sculture Medium and allowed to dry overnight and then started spraying them with AA's beautiful Coloration Sprays. 

I die cut some butterflys out of grungpaper and also acetate to provide dimension on the wings. The acetate wings were then painted with AA's Sorbet paints for a pretty translucent glitter look. 

The frame was inexpensive one and I started texturing by running AA's Clear Coat Glass through a stencil and once dry I sprayed the entire surface with Colorations Spray Warm.

Shaker Box Greeting Card

Hi everyone.... hope you have taken a little time to get creative this month. Today I have for you a DT project for ReneaBouquets and I used her new Shaker Box... OMG... I think I'm addicted to these. They are so much fun and the ideas on how to use them are endless...

The card was really pretty simple but when the shaker box was added it provided that little UMPH that the card needed. 

This is a photo of the inside which again was kept very minimal but ReneaBouquets beautiful board really allows you to give that sweet shabby chic look. 

This was such a fun card to make, hope you get your hands on some of these shaker boxes, the store has small and large... So much fun. For your enjoyment I have included a process video below so you can watch my creative process.... xoxo Toni 

"Blissful" Butterfly Vignette for ReneaBouquets Design Team

Hi everyone, love is in the air and I love creating with ReneaBouquet items from the store. Today I have a design team project entitled "Blissful"

Starting off with Ideaology's Vignette Boxes and Finial I decided to create a butterfly haven. 

All the products I used from ReneaBouquets will be listed in the process video below. I antiqued the vignette and all the beautiful board pieces first to give it that shabby chic look. Added some coiled wire and attached these precious Sugar Spun Butterflies from the store to the wire to provide movement.

Passport Mini Album/10 Easy Mixed Media Background Techniques

Hi everyone,  I have many people tell me that they love the look and idea of mixed media but they are simply too afraid to try it. Well today I have a project I created with 10 of some very simple ways that you can add some mixed media to your next projects. I've compiled them all in a mini album that I created using Eileen Hull's Passport Die and the help of Art Anthology's products.

For your pleasure below is a process video which will show you each individual page more clearly. You don't have to have alot of different supplies just the desire to try something new. 

I also altered this little box to hold my album in. Nothing special, just white washed it a bit with white acrylic paint and added some ephemera, sea shells, a little bit of sprays etc. 

The album's signatures are held together with jute. Tied and braided then beads were added for interest. 

I hope you take a moment to view the video. I'm sure you will be surprised at how fun and simple many of the techniques are. Grab some paper, some stencils, paints and/or sprays and create with me. 

"You Are Enough" Layout for ReneaBouquets

Hi everyone.... hope you are having a wonderful month and today I have a ReneaBouquets design team project featuring some gorgeous items from the store. 

I started off with Prima's Georgia Blue paper collection and gave it some texture using Paper Texture Paste by Finnabair. 

Also added some Diamond Dust to the background for a pretty sparkle. The frames used are Beautiful Board Chunky Chain and for more texture I also used Beautiful Board Brick Elements. 

These Powder Blue and Tangerine Quartz flowers work perfectly on this layout. Stop by the store and see all the amazing colors available.

Build Your Wings Mixed Media Layout

Hi everyone, Toni here with an Art Anthology Design Team project and I decided to get creative with AA's products on a 12 x 12 layout. 

I also included some beautiful products from Reneabouquets store. Below will be a process video and all products used are listed with weblinks. 

My focal point expressed the beauty of nature and so I wanted to keep the colors very subtle and soft with some organic textures. 

Sometimes mixed media will be intimidating to add to your scrapbook layouts but it absolutely is so very easy. With the additions of some sprays to bring out the highlights on my photo, I was able to get that perfect custom made background paper. 

With the addition of texture paste run through a stencil, this can also provide you with some magical wings for your focal point. Hope you emjoyed and for your pleasure here is a process video.

"Be Present" Layout

Hi everyone, so excited to share with you my very first design team project for Reneabouquets. This mixed media layout is filled with texture and beautiful items from Reneabouquets store. 

This months mood board is sweet and soft with that vintage feel and it helped inspire me with this layout. 

My title is my 2019 inspirational words "Be Present" and this was stamped with archival ink on white muslin. 

Reneabouquets Beautiful Board was gently distressed with ink. The flowers and butterflies can all be purchased in the Reneabouquets store.

Mixed Media Jewelry Christmas Tree

Merry Christmas everyone, it's that time of year when everything seems to have just a bit more sparkle in the air. I decided to take some of my old jewelry that was lacking sparkle and put some sparkle back into it with this mixed media canvas. It's my turn on Art Anthology's blog today to provide some inspiration. 

I decided to take the back of this canvas and adhere a bunch of old broken jewelry I had and create some new life into it. I adhered the jewelry pieces in the shape of a tree and then primed the surface with gesso. 

I also added Mud Paste and art stones to the back of the canvas for more texture, then I got out my spays and Minx shimmering inks and away I went. 

The outside of the frame was an old photo mat I had and I primed it with gesso and then using Art Anthology's Ringlet stencil and pretty Sorbet paints I colored it up. Then for the final touches I add gemstones and pearls here and there. Super easy and fun technique and I always love a way to recycle old items. Hope you give this a try.
