Dreamer of Dreams

Hi everyone, happy Saturday and I am up on the blog today with a fun canvas for Art Anthology.

I created this canvas with a particular creative challenge website in mind. Mixed Media & Art, they offered such a beautiful mood board and I couldn't resist.
Inspired by the colors of course, the textures of the macrame and the feathers and the fibers, simply gorgeous.
With the help of Art Anthology mixed media products, Colorations, Shine, Minx Shimmering Inks, Stencils and texture paste I was able to create this fun canvas. I decided to get creative also with some old macrame skills from back in the day and make a dream catcher.
The feathers were made from clay and then painted. The flowers are 49 & Market.
Hope you enjoyed this post and would love to see your comments. For your pleasure I have also included a Snapguide tutorial for the entire creative process. To purchase Art Anthology's products used for this project please check out my post on AA's blog HERE. Thank you for stopping by... Happy creating !

Le'ts get creative with Gelli Plate

Hi everyone, it's time to get messy and have fun with a gelli plate. I was able to get three projects out of my monoprint created by the plate. Let's get started, below is a complete Snapguide tutorial on the journal page process.
When applying the paints to the gelli plate I printed out the pattern on white cardstock, tissue paper, manila tags and kraft paper. So first up is my journal page that I used the tissue paper print.

Randomly ripping it and then collaged to the journal page started my background.
Next up I created a card for Father's Day.
Using the white cardstock I was able to receive a crisp beautiful background.
The chipboard was embossed with Gold UTEE,
The last project was a layout for my antique album.
I used the kraft paper for the base on this one.
By the time I used the kraft paper on the gelli print there wasn't much left of the paint but it was just the look I was going for.
I ripped a tag in half and used it in my layout as well.
Hope you enjoyed this post and you will give this technique a try. No one print is the same that's the fun of it. Happy Creating xoxo Toni

Father's Day Mixed Media Canvas

Hi everyone, hope you've been able to play with your art this month and get those fingers messy. Today I have a project I created for my dad for this Father's Day. Inspired by Art Anthology's mood board this month I made a canvas utilizing the blues, burgandys, greys, and textures from the photo below.
I started with a small canvas and stenciled through it using AA's dimensional Shine paints.
Then I cut up a pair of old jeans and saturated them with Sculpture Medium. The denim flowers were cut with Tattered Floral diecut and also saturated with Sculpture Medium.

Red flowers were white and I painted them with the same paint used with the stencil and then added silver seed beads.
And there you have it a gift keepsake for my daddy. Hope he likes it and that you enjoyed my canvas. For your pleasure I have included a Snapguide tutorial below for step x step process.

Land of the Free Journal Page

It's art journal time and Art Anthology has a pretty mood board to inspire your projects.
My journal page is two pages and I started by using painters tape to create the strips.
Then using  Twilight stencil from Art Anthology I ran some Mud texture paste through the stencil for my stars.
Next step was to add some texture to the strips and I added the paste in waves to give the strips a look of movement.
Allow all paste to dry and then add your sprays.

I decided to write out the lyrics to Oh Beautiful on the strips.
Remove the painters tape once the sprays are dry and add Metal Effects Silver to the high parts of the strips and stars for highlight.
And for the final touch I used T!m Holtz chit chat stickers for my title Land of the Free Home of the Brave.
Hope you have enjoyed this art journal page and thank you for stopping by and viewing.
