"Breathe In Breathe Out" Easy Mixed Media Layout

Hi everyone, today I want to share how very simple it is to add some mixed media elements to your scrapbook layouts. Mixed media has gotten so popular but still so many are intimidated by the word "Mixed Media". I'm here today to tell you if you are a scrapper or card maker, chances are you are already doing mixed media.

Wikipedia says: Mixed Media is an artwork in which more than one medium or material has been employed. Assemblages and collages are two common examples of art using different media that will make use of different materials including cloth, paper, wood and found objects. So, what that means if you are a card maker you use paper, sometimes stamping with ink, adding embellishments, sometimes markers etc. ... you are already doing mixed media. So don't let the word scare you any longer. Let's get
started with this very simple layout.
I really wanted the colors on this to be very muted and subtle so that my photo would really be the focal point. The Art Anthology paints I used were our Metal Effects and our Stone Effects (all products will be listed blow in the video description.
With the use of a couple of our stencils (and we have so many to choose from) this provided added patterns to my paper as well as texture.
With the addition of some seed beads (because I can't ever get enough texture... lol) and pretty flowers, my layout was finished. I hope you give this a try. Below is a process video of me creating this layout. I hope I was able to inspire you to get in there and add some paints and textures to your scrapbook layouts. xoxo Toni

"Spring Meadow" Mixed Media Layout or ReneaBouquets

Hi everone, Toni here with a new project for ReneaBouquets and inspired by this month's beautiful moodboard.
Mood boards are a great way to provide inspiration to you when your trying to get started on a layout or project. It provides you with textures, colors, imagery etc. What I grabbed a hold of is the watercolor, ethereal look of the images as well as the flowers and of course that unbelievable palette of colors.
Using ReneaBouquet products is always an easy way to accomplish a look that maybe you are trying to achieve. How I usually start is I find a photo or get an idea in my head of what I want to create and then allow that to lead me in the ReneaBouquets store on the items that will indeed enhance my project.
It can be overwhelming when you go to the store and see all the fantastic items to choose from and you don't know where to start. Many of the items in the store actually have a photo of a project that one of the designers created using that item which will give you and idea on how to utilize it.
In the layout above, I found the photo I wanted to scrap and realized it encompassed so much of the mood board. I then went to the RB store and chose some items that I new would really enhance my photo. And then I just sat down and started creating as you can view my process video below. Hope you give our mood boards a try and utilize them. Happy creating ! All supplies used will be listed in the video discription.

"Life Began In A Garden" Mixed Media Vignette

Happy Monday everyone, today I'm here for a design team project for Art Anthology. One of my favorite things to do with art is create vintage, old, shabby pieces. I have always loved rusty things, antiques, well worn pieces. So today I have for you a T!m Holtz Vignette with a makeover.
I have a process video below for your pleasure so you can watch my creative process. I have a few fun techniques to use for aging your projects. Also the supplies from Art Anthology that I used will be listed in the video description.
The paper line I used is Stamperia "Garden" and I did some fussy cutting then gave the pieces a coat of crackle varnish on top.
Here you can see the peeled paint technique as well as the wonderful job the crackle varnish does. And then when added with Art Anthology's mediums you really can achieve a weathered look.
Here is wishing you a week filled with peace and joy. Thank you for stopping by. xoxo Toni
