We have this gorgeous birch tree in our yard and I decided to try Laura Liddell's technique of embossing leaves. So off to the tree I go I then used my PK Glitz embossing powders and glitters to coat the leaves. Then I sprayed the branches white and covered them with Mica to give it that wintery feeling.
Meantime, while everything is drying I started work on my canvas by preppig it with gesso, then used different shades of cool acrylic colors. Ran some Perfect Pearls over the top for a shimmer, added some spackle for texture and then coated the entire canvas with Golden's Glass Bead Gel which is made with genuine glass beads, its unique visual effect – like that of condensation on cold glass.

I did so enjoy this Toni. The end result is breathtaking whilst the process you walked us through was blind blowing I feel as though even I, a digital artist, could at least attempt one of these. Thank you so much for sharing.
Toni I love the way you turned ordinary leaves into a wonderland of beautiful colors. the mica works so well you did a beautiful job honey love it..... mom
Oh wow what a fabulous canvas, I dread to think how much Mica those branches took, but it was so worth it. Brilliant. Enjoy the weekend. Annette x

Toni, not only is your artpiece special, superb and stunning but the way you describe the process from start to finish is absolutely fascinating. Thankyou so much for sharing this lovely artwork with your blog friends.
I had some problems posting a comment here, Toni, and I have just returned to try again, hoping that one of my attempts hasn't already registered, waiting for your approval. If it has, you will think I am having a senior moment! Ah well, two comments are better than one. Your artpiece is magnificent, absolutely gorgeous. Better still, you have taken us on your creative journey and I was fascinated see the artistic journey from start to finish.
Oh boy! Gorgeous! I'm a sucker for Fall and for all of your Shiny!
