Land of the Free Journal Page

It's art journal time and Art Anthology has a pretty mood board to inspire your projects.
My journal page is two pages and I started by using painters tape to create the strips.
Then using  Twilight stencil from Art Anthology I ran some Mud texture paste through the stencil for my stars.
Next step was to add some texture to the strips and I added the paste in waves to give the strips a look of movement.
Allow all paste to dry and then add your sprays.

I decided to write out the lyrics to Oh Beautiful on the strips.
Remove the painters tape once the sprays are dry and add Metal Effects Silver to the high parts of the strips and stars for highlight.
And for the final touch I used T!m Holtz chit chat stickers for my title Land of the Free Home of the Brave.
Hope you have enjoyed this art journal page and thank you for stopping by and viewing.

Summer Vibes

Hi everyone... It's almost summertime and Art Anthology's mood board is Summer Vibes and is so pretty. I decided to create a fun tag with lots of orchid, ocean blues, mossy greens and yummy texture.
Here is the Mood board filled with nice inspiration for summer. And here is my take on the inspiration.

My tag was formed on a piece of chipboard cut 4.5"x 9" and then prepped with gesso. The chipboard embellishments were textured using texture paste mixed with craft sand which was also ran through a stencil on the base of the tag.
Art Stones in assorted sizes were also added for additional texture.

Hope you enjoyed my creation and be sure to play along with us at Art Anthology and post your creations using our moodboard for "Summer Vibe" for a chance to win one of our brand new stencils. xoxo Toni

I am entering this creation in the following inspiring challenges:

Sun Kissed Mixed Media Wooden Tag by Toni

Happy day to all and I am up on the blog today with a project inspired by Art Anthology's Mood Board for Summer Vibes.

Inspired by the flowers, vibrant colors and ocean I created this altered wooden tag.
The base was started by adding some Mud Paste through a stencil to give it some yummy texture. While drying I started on my fussy cutting of my images from G45 Sun Kissed Collection.

For added interest seed beads and prills were added to some of the flower centers.
Stamens were also added to some of the flowers. After cutting out my images I gave them a coat of matt medium and allowed to dry. This provided some more strength to the paper fibers for durability.
Craft Sand was also added to the texture paste for added grit. Then the beautiful sprays were applied to color the backdrop. Dew Drops as well as Floral Glass Fillers were adhered with glossy accents to give the illusion of bubbles.
Thank you so much for stopping by, I hope you were inspired, and wishing you a summer filled with creativity. xoxo Toni

Message In A Bottle-Looking For Love In All The Wrong Places

Hi everyone, hope your having a wonderful month of May. Today I'm up on the blog for an Art Anthology Design Team project with a "Message In A Bottle". Loaded with lots of mixed media textures.
Using an old bottle that I had laying around the house and I added a cork to the top, I then began to add beautiful new paints from Art Anthology "Shine". They are dimensional paints with a high gloss, no sparkle and semi-transparent.

I first prepared my message and adhered in to the inside of the bottle as well as added sand, seashells and Diamond Dust glitter, which provided a pretty water effect.
Then primed all of the bottle except the front where I wanted to be able to message the message with clear gesso, just to prepare the glass surface for my paint and spray mediums.

Then it was time to add the Shine Mediums. I used Ocean, Kelly and a bit of Sunrise to the back of the bottle.
Then floral moss, sea shells, twigs and assorted art stones were added for interest.

The art stones as well as the moss was sprayed with Minx Shimmering Inks for a gorgeous color.

Hoping this has brought some new inspiration for your creativity and be sure to get your hands on these new Art Anthology paints. There are so many vibrant colors to choose from. You can go to our store to purchase these HERE

Mixed Media ATC's To Decorate Your Cards

Happy Saturday everyone... I'm up on Art Anthology's blog today to provide some inspiration with ATC's.
Atc's are a great way to add a little bit of your art to a card to give away.... let's get started.
I created the ATC's first by cutting chipboard and then adding textures with tissue tape, old book pages, and modeling paste through stencils.
I also added some texture stamping and then began to include my sprays and paints. Below is a complete step x step process for the ATC's.
Butterfly images were stamped and then water colored with my sprays and cut out to be placed on the ATC's. Then matted with a coordinating cardstock.

My sentiments were stamped on the white card  and ATC's were adhered to the front. This is a nice little gift you can give someone for note cards or all occasion cards.
I hope I have provided you some inspiration for your ATC's creating. Get out those little canvases and give this a try. Happy creating !

Altered Lamp Steampunk Style

Hi everyone... hope you are having a creative month. Today my project is for Art Anthology featuring their wonderful Rust Paste Set.
I purchased a lamp recently at a home decor store and wanted to alter it for my craftroom, here is how it began.
I also purchased these children goggles at the dollar store to alter as well.
With the addition of lots of metal pieces from my visits to the junk yard, thrift stores, etc. and chipboard pieces, as well as items I picked up at the hardware store, I think the lamp came together well.

Art Anthology's paints are so versatile and easy to use. This piece was difficult to photograph but I hope you get the idea.
Here is a shot of it outside, and the complete tutorial can be viewed HERE for my process.
Hope you enjoyed and are inspired to use our Rust Paste Sets. To purchase them you can go to our shop HERE

Altered Box for Essential Oils by Toni

Hi everyone, today I have an altered project I created to hold my essential oils. I love my diffuser and my assortment of oils is growing, so I needed a place to hold them.
Purchased this paper mache box awhile back at Michaels and it was the perfect size for my bottles.
To first alter it I added pretty texture with Mud Texture paste ran though a couple stencils and then a coat of gesso to prime the surface.
The inside I kept very simple and just lined it with scrapbook paper.
Title was from T!m Holtz quote chips and distressed with Metal Effect Gold paint from Art Anthology.
Flowers were first painted different colors and then dipped in melted UTEE to provide a pretty glass look.  Such a fun project to make, hope you were inspired to create something with your personal touch. Enjoy your day ! xoxo Toni

Below is a snapguide tutorial for your pleasure on my step x step process.

Find Joy In The Ordinary by Toni

Hi everyone, I'm up on the blog today with a new post and project for Art Anthology's design team. Featuring their wonderful mediums with an addition of beeswax to finish of the piece.
My foundation was T!m Holtz's mini clip board and I prepped the surface with Mud Paste run through several different stencils. Then a coat of gesso and Stone Effects Lava was painted. I waited for it to be tacky then dabbed a paper towel on the surface and it removed chunks of paint to provide a peeled paint effect.
Rust Texture Set mixed with sand was added to the metal portions of the board.
Fun ephemera and metal objects were added to the board for interest always remembering to distress everything.
Once everything was in place, 3 coats of beeswax was applied for a wonderfully vintaged matt finish. Hope you were inspired by this piece. Would love you to take a moment to view my snapguide tutorial and follow me if you enjoyed my piece. xoxo Toni
