Altered Art Supply Containers with Toni

Hi crafty peeps, today I'm up on the blog to share a project for Art Anthology and some inspiration for altering containers to hold your art supplies. I love organizing and I really enjoy using my supplies when they are in pretty containers. So let's get started.
I had this empty peanut plastic container and it was the perfect size to fit all my sea shells so I knew I wanted to give it a face lift.
Adding sculpture medium to fishnet prepared the outside of the container perfectly. Below is a complete Snapguide tutorial to show you more photos and the step x step process.
The lid was altered with sea shells, net, a metal light house, sea horses etc. These were also added to the sides of the container, then everything was given a nice coat of white gesso to prep for Art Anthology's Shimmering Inks and Patina Texture Set.
The patina texture set adds such gorgeous under the sea colors and the shimmering inks give such a pretty mossy appeal.
Art stones in assorted sizes were also added for texture and interest.

Containers are always so much fun to alter and I hope you will give it a try. Below are a couple other containers that were altered to hold more crafty bits.
Wooden box altered to hold my steampunk embellishments

Bubble gum machine altered to hold crafting pearls.

2018 Power Word "Serenity" Layout

Happy New Years everyone, hope 2018 is starting off for you wonderful ! I am up on Art Anthology's blog today with a new project inspired by our January mood board.
I thought long and hard for my power word for 2018 and decided on "Serenity".  I've never been one for resolutions but rather inspired by a power word for the year. After all we can all use a little serenity..right?
My background was started by enhancing the paper with stencils using paints either sponged on or using a spatula.
Flowers used are from 49 & Market and they are beautiful but I did need to tint them to the correct hue needed for the layout. So I used my Colorations sprays by Art Anthology to achieve this. Then using prills and seed beads to the stamens and centers of the flowers for interest.
Sorbet and Velvet paints were also splattered on the flowers just for a bit more texture as well as cheesecloth was dyed with the paint as well for filler.
Wishing you a "2018" filled with love, joy, and serenity.... be sure to join in on the fun with us with our mood board and post it on Art Anthology's facebook page HERE  to inspire all.
