Tattered Time

Today I have a new project for Art Anthology's design team using textiles. Utilizing an embroidery hoop to hold my muslin was the perfect backdrop for my mixed media project. My inspiration for this piece came from our spectacular mood board this month.

I sewed pieces of the muslin together to form my canvas and prepped with clear gesso. Using AA's coffee stain stencil and AA's paints started designing my backdrop.
The photograph was altered by adding mulberry flowers, some which I customized the colors using AA's Coloration Sprays, with pearls and tulle ruffle for the dress also altered with Coloration sprays.
My timepiece was altered mixed craft sand with different shades of AA's paints for a nice patina'd effect.
Hope this has inspired you to dust off your sewing machine and grab some textiles for your next project. Have a wonderful month. For your pleasure I have also included a snapguide tutorial below. Enjoy !

The Best Day Ever Layout

Hi everyone, there is something about being outside that I adore and I love to incorporate this on my layouts. There are so many different techniques you can do to add textures and that organic feel. Let's get started. I'm up the Art Anthology's blog today with a layout of my sister, my bro-n-law and niece. We were spending a day at Newport Beach and it was "The Best Day Ever".
My cardstock is from Kaiser Craft Basecoat IV Collection and has a very pretty organic look to it, I thought this would be the perfect backdrop for my layout. I first ran my texture paste and gray concret paint through the brick stencil.
Then added some Art Anthology Colorations in Avocado watered down in between the bricks for a nice mossy appeal.

Flowers were plain white Prima's that I have had for ever and I layered them to make individual blooms and sprayed and glitter them to match the layout.
The 3D embellishments that are around the photos is the Dragonfly Revolution from 49 and Market. For added texture assorted sizes of art stones, once again sprayed with Colorations and added to layout. My title is from Blue Fern Chipboard and  was kept raw and just UTEE was embossed for a pretty shine.
Frame and corked bottle filled with glitter from my stash finished off the project. Hope you enjoyed and thank you for stopping by. For your pleasure, below is a snapguide tutorial of my process. Thank you and have a creatively wonderful month !
