Let's Play TIC TAC TOE

I am so honored to have been asked to be a Guest Designer for "Try It On Tuesday" this week. Every Tuesday they offer some very creative themes to get your artsy mojo going so I hope you jump over to their blog and get involved. This week it's all about "Tic Tac Toe" How fun is that !!! Here is the grid you are to use...
As you can see I chose FLOWERS FLOURISH STRING... This is what my creative wheels came up with.
I had this acetate for YEARS !!!!! (Feels so good to use something from my old stash), First of all I grabbed my molding paste and Dyllusions Dotted Flower stencil and added that. Allowed to dry. The I busted out the alcohol inks in Ginger, Terracotta, Stream & Denim and dripped them from the top. As they puddled around the molding paste I sprayed rubbing alcohol to allow it to spread and blend more.
Once I got the colors I wanted I then took my photo and adhered it to a white piece of card stock then adhered the card stock to the back of the acetate. With Ranger Blending Solution, I dabbed off the alcohol ink that was covering over the top of the photo. You know this technique... Mr T!m Holtz taught us this a long time ago.
Now time for embellishing.. Using Prima "Say It With Crystals" I added the flourish to the page and took alcohol inks and randomly colored the gems to match the layout. The flowers are by Recollections, I used black Distress Ink to smudge them up a bit. You know me, can't leave anything alone.
Using black jute I wound it around the page and adhered it to my layout using Glossy Accents. Last but not least I took black and white acrylic paint and dry brushed it around the edges of the layout for a finished look. I hope you enjoyed this. Please stop by and play along with Try It On Tuesday.  An amazing group of creative ladies with a new theme... of course on every Tuesday.... lol xoxo Toni

Celebrating Friends

It's February and our theme this month at Anything But A Card Challenge is "Friendship". I decided this was the perfect opportunity to do a layout of my daughter.... my best friend in the world.
I decided to use T!m Holt'z beautiful "Wallflower" vellum paper as the back drop. Applying white acrylic paint with my crackle stencil to the vellum added that bit of texture I wanted. I added my photo then dry brushed white acrylic paint around the photo and on the entire surface of the 12x12 layout.
I also created flowers using the vellum and Tattered Floral diecut. I then applied Versamark to the edges and added gold embossing powder. When heat setting the embossing powder the heat also curled the vellum petals beautifully. The pearls were colored with alcohol ink.

The chipboard frame, flourish and hanging charm are all from Blue Fern and they were painted white then different shades of gold embossing powders were applied.
I am so blessed to have such a special relationship with my daughter. Wishing you a beautiful month and I hope you can spend time with special people in your life that you can call "Friends". Be sure to drop by Anything But A Card... link up your project to play along. xoxo Toni

Follow Your Heart

Happy February everyone our new RAQ (Readers Art Quest) this month at Unruly PaperArts is "Heartfelt".  The color inspiration for this month is so pretty, but  if you aren't a fan of pink then use the picture below for inspiration on your project.

I was so excited to create my project because I got to use some wonderful new stamps from this months sponsor,

They have a wonderful selection of stamps and they also have a stamp challenge every month on their blog.
The map stamped backgroumd was made using the masking technique, then randomly I colored areas using Pan Pastels. Stamped my sentiment and distressed with Black Soot DI. I cut a heart from muslin added an eyelet and ran my black jute through it. Adhered it to my project with Glossy Accents.

I hope you were inspired to go play with your art goodies. Be sure to join in on our RAQ this month  and link up your project so we can all be inspired by your work. Have a "Sweetheart" of a month.... xoxo
